But why punish them with complex mental arithmetic when adding up the scores? Sure, you could be generous and give them a calculator to use, but you’d still need pen and paper to write it all down. So whip out your iPhone and solve the problem by using the EZ Score app. You can keep track of everyone’s score very easily, even having a photo next to each child’s name. For 59 pence (or free for the Lite version that is limited to 3 players) you have become the cool dad with the iPhone who didn’t make his kids practice mathematics when they were supposed to be having fun. Turning 1
She has such a little attitude of her own and is very independent. So having a party for her was out of the question so what we did was to take her to her grandparents and invite a few people there. We didn’t want to have a big party that would require thousands of little people running around and parents alike trying to control them. So we just had a quiet party with a few family members which was great as well. I think once you have a one year old the fun really begins, because they really start thinking like adults and they want to do everything that you do, and they are so helpful, and I love that also. They have their own little personalities and they know what they want and don’t want!

Celebrating the first birthday
Organising a birthday party for a one-year-old actually required more preparation than I thought. First of all space might be an issue. We wanted to have all our friends + babies round but the weather didn't really allow for an outdoors option, so things got a bit squeezed in our living room. Friends of ours hired a kindi on a Saturday which seemed like a sensible option. The second issue was food. We wanted to make sure that we had sensible food for our friends and their babies. So we baked quite a few cakes but also prepared some fruit and baby sandwiches.

So you've had success with your electronic invites and now your house is full of screaming children vomiting peanut butter sandwiches into your DVD player’s disc-tray. Time to settle them all down for a few board games.
Pyper turned 1 year old on Sunday 27th July. It has been an amazingly quick 12 months, and I still find it hard to believe how quick my little lady is growing up.
Planning your child’s Birthday party can be a great way connect with them and make them feel extra special, but sometimes we can get in over our heads, or unplanned events can make the event stressful not to mention the social etiquette that can raise some questions.
What an amazing milestone for mum and dad, and what a fantastic event to celebrate for your baby - the first birthday! I couldn't believe how quickly it came round ... after all the new experiences, dramas, joys, late nights and special moments we suddenly realised Noah's first birthday was just round the corner. Right away I thought - yay, let's celebrate!
