Fathers are doing it for themselves ...

Here's an idea to capture the spirit of a new era for dads and a response to all those disappointing stories on dads, the condescending language used in parenting books (about dads) and the truly outdated stereotypes for males used by marketing people around the world. So I thought it's about time we updated the lyrics of an old time 80's-party favourite:

Now, there was a time
when they used to say
that behind ev'ry great mum,
there had to be a great father.

But oh, in these times of change,
you know that it's no longer true.
So we're comin' out of the office,
'cause there's something we forgot to say to you.
We say, Fathers are doin' it for themselves,
standin' on their own two feet
and bringin' up their own kids.

My creativity ran out after the first two verses so if someone else wants to have a go - feel free to post here. The ultimate would obviously be a karoake recording with new lyrics and SIMS style adaptation of the original video.
