This is an interesting perspective. I've been a stay at home dad since our four-year-old son was born and I have yet to encounter the Man Date. Frankly, I would welcome that kind of set-up. First, I've encountered very few other SAHDs and I'd love to meet a few of them; yeah, I'm sure I will hate most of them, but I'm bound to run into one or two I can tolerate. Second, the moms I meet (playground, preschool, wherever) tend to be incredibly cliquey. At least, those of them that don't think I must be a pervert for liking kids enough to want to stay home with mine. Maybe it's just me, but staying home all day in my pajamas just isn't as much fun as it used to be.
