Over the last few months we've noticed a growing interest in washing machines in our son. He started out being slightly scared of the strange machine in the bathroom that occasionally makes a lot of noise. These days he can hardly contain his excitement when we put it on and he is allowed to watch. He literally stands there watching the clothes being washed till the washing machine gets to the point where the top needs to be closed. It's really cool with the top loader we've got as it lets you keep the lid open for about 15 minutes into the wash. Then it makes a noise to indicate that the lid needs to be closed (god knows what happens inside at that point). Eventually of course it goes into the spinning cycle and understandably the top needs to be closed for that.
That said a front loader would also be cool I guess in that they usually have a glass door so you can watch the whole show! I'll have to try that out on Noah one of these days ...
Any other home appliances that have your toddler mesmerized?

Thank you - very good point!
Thank you - very good point! Active toddlers need to be supervised at all times when they are near water.

Please make sure that you
Please make sure that you watch your son while he watches the washing machine - in my town a child fell into the washing machine when no one was supervising and although she is alive, they aren't sure whether she has permanent brain damage from the near-drowning.
