A term that has come up for father’s who are starting a family again.
NEWS FLASH! I am going to become a recycled father!
First; I’m excited, very excited about becoming a Recycled Father.
Second; I’m honoured to be having the chance to have a complete family.
The only concern I had was how will my three children feel about their father having another child, and not only another child but a child that will live with him, and have their father all the time.
So when it came to sharing the news with my children, I just came out with it “Kids, Andrea is up the Duff, your going to have a new brother or sister”. They thought I was joking at first, but their expression changed when they saw that I was not joking, they were each excited in their own way.
Nastassja my eldest daughter doesn’t hide her excitement, about having a new brother or sister
Christian my son, is excited also for the same reason
Amber my youngest daughter is excited about becoming a big sister
They all hope for a boy, to balance out the clan.
Andrea opted to not find out the sex of the baby, even thou I did want to find out, I know from experience how hard it can be to plan and shop for the new arrival with out knowing the sex, but I respect Andrea’s decision and it’s not a big deal at the end of the day, I’ll get the clothes while mum and baby are recovering.
Naming is never an easy thing, because we don’t know the sex, we have to think up names for both boys and girls, and it is a main topic with friends and family at the moment, even with each other. But everyone will find out when the baby is born, until then it is a work in progress… and I’m sticking to that story.
Preparation is a major job, not that it had to be, but because we wanted some things done before the baby arrives, such as renovate the whole house… re-wiring, relining, removal of a wall, new flooring, new heating, insulation… nothing like working under pressure.
As well as buying for the baby a Cot, Buggy, Stroller, Nappies (lots), baby clothes (cream and whites). We have been given a Baby Bag thanks to SIP Sinot, a Moses Basket, baby bath and more clothes from other family members, I know there will be more to come.
Andrea is having a very smooth pregnancy, very little morning sickness early on, no complications.
We both hope that the birth will be just as good
Warm Regards
Eric

Congratulations Eric! I can
Congratulations Eric! I can totally relate to your upcoming experience, as I went through it a few years ago with my daughter. She was excited to have a new brother, but there was a bit of jealousy there too. Our situation is very amicable, and my daughter is really excited that she's about to have another little sister in June. Good luck!
