Here is another device which I think I am in love with at this stage! I believe that it’s great for a couple of reasons –
1) My mother brought it so it didnt cost me a cent!
2) Its blue and she is a girl and we are a little over everything being damn pink!
Now its called Bumbo and its a South African seat for feeding your baby to 4 years old in.
It is a lot more stable and seems to fit on all/most surfaces. My mother paid around $60 AUD for it so its a good buy and not a goodbye to your money!!
We have another one which has a table and can be velcroed onto the fronts of chairs and the like – different concept but I understand the appeal of both formats.
It allows for Pyper to sit in it when being fed and therefore she isnt able to get out of it so easily – well at this stage but I have found a couple of things that I will review;
Pros
* Like I said its blue NOT pink
* Its sterdy and allows for bending and movement also
S* he isnt able to come out of the device easily but in saying that if she arches her back “like a high jumper” as she tends to do now, then it will only be a matter of time that she can push herself out of it
* I can put her in it like its a chair when I need to do something urgently, without having to place the little table on top thinking that she is going to get fed.
Cons
* Manufacturers say it can be used for up to 4years – we have an average size 6 month old and she would probably get another 6 months out of it at a push
* Hard to clean – easy when the food stains are new but a bit harder as its polyurethane
* She will be able to get out of it in another 6 months
Conclusion
I wouldnt expect to keep her eating out of this until she is four years old and I dont think I could be bothered with it if she could, its easy to use and doubles as a chair for her if need be.
Its easily kept in a cupboard/pantry and is ready to go as is. No things to click on to or extra bits which take time.
This is a 7/10

Bumbo “Baby Sitter”
Bumbo “Baby Sitter” Seats, made by Bumbo International of South Africa, is a popular baby seat but potentially dangerous and being recalled.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says, If the seat is placed on a table, countertop, chair, or other elevated surface, young children can arch their backs, flip out of the Bumbo seat, and fall onto the floor, posing a risk of serious head injuries.
The agency says it's had 28 reports of young children falling out of the seats, and sustaining injuries that included three skull fractures suffered when kids fell out of Bumbo seats that had been placed on tables.
Consumers can contact Bumbo to obtain warning label stickers and instructions, free of charge. The new warning label will state: "WARNING -- Prevent Falls; Never use on any elevated surface."
Consumers can contact Bumbo International at (877) 932-8626 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's Web site at www.bumbosafety.com.

Will - its probably worth noting that yes you are correct they shouldnt be used on elevated surfaces but also that we only use it when we are around her and dont leave her at all, I do understand that. The point I was making was we are all human and putting this on the ground and feeding her can be hard on your back. Ill take my chances with standing next to her feeding her! Apart from that did you have one of these and if so did you like it??
It's worth noting that the
It's worth noting that the reason for the Bumbo recalls here in the States is precisely for the picture shown here. The Bumbo should never be used on an elevated surface. A reasonable person would expect others to have the common sense to know this, but there's been more than one kid hurt because of it.
