Book about doing "the business"

I just came across a hilarious book entitled "The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business" which is a children's book about a mole who woke up one day to find that some other animal had done "their business" on top of the mole's head. It's absolutely incredible how the authors Werner Holzwarth and Wolf Erlbruch have managed to tell this story about a tricky subject in a funny and matter-of-factly way. The book was published in 2001 and received widespread recognition and was turned into a stage play at the Edinburgh Festival a year later.

If you are dealing with toilet training issues and need to discuss bodily functions with your child I'd highly recommend giving this book a go. Get it out from the library to see how your child responds ... and buy the book if they like it. We've used it to make a conversation about poo-ing and pee-ing more normal and to downplay any feelings of embarrassment etc.

Definitely makes for good loo literature!

Enjoy

I bought this book in French

I bought this book in French in Paris for my nephews when they were 3-4 years old. I read and translated it to them at that time. They are now 18-20 years old and still fondly remember it as one of the best book they got.

My kids love this book. It

My kids love this book. It ranks right up there with "Who Flung Dung" by Ben Redlich and the Walter the Farting Dog books!

Nothing like a bit of toilet humour to capture a kid's imagination :)
