Dads and daughters - the first period

If you've got a daughter and you are parenting solo - are you worried about facing a conversation with her about periods? Or you think you're all set and you know exactly how to have the conversation? Either way - have a listen to Dave's interview with Rachel Kauder Nalebuff who wrote "My little red book". Rachel's book is a colletion of stories about first periods and she's got some good advice for dads to make the subject a lot more approachable.

Being a mom of a tween

Being a mom of a tween daughter and having to also have this conversation, I realized how many parents both (moms & dads) need help with this.

Since then, I have created a Be Prepared Period Kit to help both parents and daughters discuss the upcoming changes. Our goal was to make it less gross and focus on the celebration, she's growing up (even though we may not be ready).

The kit includes a Guide For Parents that need a little help talking to their daughters (with questions and answers their daughter might have), a Guide For Daughters (a great reference point for when she has questions or perfect for parents that don’t feel comfortable having the “talk”), along with all the needed supplies, wrapped up in a gift box, so when the day finally comes, she is prepared and can feel comfortable.

Our site can continue to help even after she starts her period with our subscription option. Monthly supplies can be bought online and delivered automatically, so there is no embarrassing trips to the store. You can check it out at www.bepreparedperiod.com

If there is anything we can help with please feel free to contact me.

Good luck!
