DIY in minutes - the bumble bee

Here is a bee your kids will not be afraid of. Making this Bumble Bee is a very simple craft that you can use to play with your kids, use as a prop in stories etc.

Things you will need:
Black pipe cleaner, 12 inch
Yellow pipe cleaner, 6 inch
White pipe cleaner, 3 inch
Two googly eyes
Glue
Pencil

Step by step instructions:

1) Have your child hold the pencil and wrap the end of the black pipe cleaner twice around the pencil.

2) Use the yellow pipe cleaner beside the black pipe cleaner and begin wrapping both pipe cleaners side-by-side around the pencil to create the stripes. When the yellow runs out, continue to wrap the black pipe cleaner until the end of the pipe cleaner. To shorten the body of the bee, you or your child needs to squeeze the pipe cleaners together and slide the pencil out of the pipe cleaners.

3) You can make it look more like a bee, when you straighten out one end of the black pipe cleaner into a 1/2 inch length for a stinger.

4) On the other end, your child needs to tuck the end of the black pipe cleaner into the center.

5) Next make the white pipe cleaner into wings by bringing the ends to the center to create two loops. Dap on a bit of glue in between the wings and insert the white pipe cleaner in the center of the stripes.

6) Finally, your child can glue on the googly eyes to the front of the bumblebee, opposite of the stinger end.
