Media Release: DIYFather.com appoints CEO

Award-winning kiwi online start-up for dads ready to conquer the world

Wellington based start-up DIYFather.com today announced the appointment of Jeff Smith as their new CEO. DIYFather director Scott Lancaster said “DIY Father.com has built a solid platform of social innovation in the parenting space and we have had extraordinary success with our books, courses and the blog. We are now stepping up our efforts and putting in a structure and systems to capitalise on our rapid growth. Jeff is the right man for the job.”

Jeff Smith is a Wellington based business person, NZ master franchise owner of the Boost Business Coaching franchise and comes to DIYFather with 8 years experience as a CEO of provincial Chambers of Commerce in Wanganui and Northland. ‘On top of his professional track record, Jeff also comes to us with that one special qualification – Father to his four year old son Ryan’ says Director Stefan Korn. ‘We currently reach out to over 25000 fathers worldwide, generating well over 300,000 page views per month on DIYFather.com’. ‘As our two year old company grows it is time to hand over the reigns to a fulltime operator to sustain the rapid expansion of our business’.

DIYFather started when the directors found out how little information was available to new fathers. Based on the New Zealand fathering experience, the directors soon found this gap existed across the globe, hence the popularity of the website and service from countries like the USA, Australia, UK and India.

The Business has been described as a social enterprise with a firm eye on the bottom line.
Earlier this year DIYfather.com won the North and South Magazine’s New Zealander of the year in the education category following the publication of the bestselling book for new fathers “Call me Dad – A manual for new fathers” which is distributed in NZ, Australia and the UK.
