The advent calendar diaries - Dec 14
Great effort by Junior School in Kent (UK) - they created an online advent calendar that features Christmas traditions from 25 countries round the world. It's a great site to explore with kids as the questions and answers are revealed step by step and there is additional information about the featured country. I think I might know the answer to the question they are asking on the homepage - "In what country is Pavlova a popular Christmas dessert?" :-) -Stefan

Well you have to hand it to the Swiss for coming up with novel ideas to get them through a long winter - the village of Neuenhof runs an annual photo gallery for ACTUAL windows of houses to be decorated as an advent calendar door/window. Stefan

The Advent Calendar Diaries - Dec 11Check out this online advent calendar put together by visumedia. Nice animations and great concept (top YouTube viral videos with a chance to win some prizes). Make sure you click on previous days as well - particularly doors 3, 5 and 6 ... also when your children are near definitely avoid doors 2 and 9. -Stefan

The Advent Calendar Diaries - Dec 10Today's calendar will work a treat for all those dads and kids who religiously follow the Doctor. Great initiative from the BBC and lots of goodies for fans of all ages (well almost all ... my 19 month-old isn't that keen on watching Doctor Who ... yet). -Stef

The Christmas Calendar Diaries - Dec 9I'm loving the graphics and idea of this MP3 advent calendar by the Thrill Jockeys. Especially for DJ dads (like me) - it's great to explore a bit of music with your kids. With the Thrill Jockey's calendar you get to experience a bit of eclectic music every day. Nice one! -Stefan
